Eligibility for Tombolo Academy

Tombolo Academy

At Tombolo Academy, we are dedicated to providing a personalised and nurturing educational environment for students with unique strengths and challenges. To ensure that we can best support each student’s growth, we have established specific eligibility criteria based on cognitive and emotional factors.

Our criteria is designed to identify students who can benefit from our specialised program, tailored to meet the needs of our learners. We understand that each child is unique, and while these guidelines help us to assess eligibility, we encourage families to reach out and register their interest even if they are unsure whether your child meets all the criteria.

We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to thrive, and we are here to work with parents to determine if Tombolo Academy is the right fit for their child’s educational journey.

While support is available, students should be able to function in a classroom setting without the need for full-time 1:1 assistance.

Oppositional Behaviours

Students may show signs of anxiety and display mildly oppositional behaviours as long as these do not escalate into violent or highly disruptive behaviours.

Ability to Self-Regulate with Support

While students may struggle with self-regulation at times, they should be open to using provided strategies and support systems to develop better self-regulation over time.
