Brendan O’Donoghue

Maths & Science Teacher

Brendan is the Maths and Science teacher at Tombolo Academy. He studied at Galway University in Ireland for four years, where he received an Honors Bachelor’s degree in Maths and Education. Brendan has experience teaching Maths, Applied Maths and Physics across Ireland and Australia at secondary level, including one-to-one teaching for students with ASD.

Brendan’s passion for Mathematics has been evident throughout his career. During University, he played a major role in setting up enrichment programs for highly academic secondary students. He was a mentor and instructor for the Maths Club in his previous school. He helped guide two teams of students to all Ireland national finals in Maths problem solving, finishing 4th and 8th overall in the country.

Outside of school, Brendan has an interest in sport and fitness. He plays the Irish sport of hurling for local Melbourne club St Kevins G.A.C. Brendan has taken part and completed endurance competitions, such as marathons, triathlons and Hyrox.
